On May 26th, the 2018 “Longtou Cup” “One Belt and One Road” Countries Chess Open Tournament and International Chess Culture Festival, which were sponsored by the Chess & Card Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the China Chess Association, the Provincial Sports Bureau and the Municipal Government, were opened in our city. Nearly 100 players from six countries including China, Russia, Belarus, Slovenia, Turkey and Iran participated in the competition.
It is known that the regulation for this open tournament is a mixed race for men and women. The game calculates international grading points and adopts the latest rules of the International Chess Federation. The form of the game is 9 rounds of Swiss points. The top 8 teams and individual competitors are accepted.
This event will last for 10 days and at the meantime a Chinese-Russian chess match will be held. And academic discussions on chess and education, chess into campus, chess into the community and other activities will be conducted in order to achieve all-round, multi-level and wide field Chess cultural exchanges and promote the popularity of chess among the folk.
