On May 19, Qinhuangdao Government – Enterprises Networking Symposium on Advanced Manufacturing was held in Langfang, Hebei Province. It has gathered more than 100 well-known domestic and international enterprises in consultations and networking with relevant counties, districts, and departments in the city. Zhang Ruishu, Deputy Secretary of CPC Qinhuangdao Municipal Committee and Major of Qinhuangdao, attended it and briefed on Qinhuangdao and its development direction and priorities for the advanced manufacturing industry.
On behalf of the CPC Qinhuangdao Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government, Zhang extended his warm welcome to all guests present at it and sincere thanks to all those who have been supporting Qinhuangdao.
The Mayor said: “after the decades of sustained efforts since its being listed among China’s first batch, Qinhuangdao has made considerable progress in various aspects from infrastructure, industrial structure, and talent pool to institutional environment, transforming itself into a city of charm, health, innovation and openness of coastal open cities. As a result, the city has attracted investors from as many as 57 countries and regions, including Alcoa, Wilo, Asahi Glass, Chia Tai, and Wilmar.”
He pointed out: “with the high-end manufacturing industry upheld as its top priority for gaining momentum for quality development, Qinhuangdao has made and implemented a series of policies in recent years by pooling efforts and wisdom of the whole city, which have realized overall improvement of its manufacturing industry in terms of both scale and quality. Examples in this regard include successful transformation of the metal pressing industry, continued consolidation and extension of the industry of cereal, oil and food, accelerated recovery of the glass processing industry, and increased status of the equipment manufacturing industry in various fields.”
Zhang also stressed: “at present, Qinhuangdao is actively using valuable opportunities presented by the strategy of ‘coordinated development of the Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei region’ and by in-depth advancing of the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative, adhering to its goal of ‘transforming itself into a prosperous coastal city, a beautiful seaport, and an international city’, and thoroughly implementing the strategy of ‘ecology as its lifeblood, industry as its backbone, openness as its fuel, and civilization as its soul’. Specifically, Qinhuangdao is making every effort to promote the development of its high-end manufacturing industry by encouraging high-end-oriented transformation, independent innovation, intelligentalization, environmental protection and branding, in an effort to build a $100 billion advanced manufacturing base.”
