On December11, 2015, the People’s Government of Qinhuangdao listed the ancient techniques inmaking colored glaze on the “fourth batchof municipality-level intangible cultural heritage register”,which fell into the category of traditional techniques. On March 27, 2017, itwas proclaimed by the Hebei Provincial Government that it was designated as the“sixth batchof Intangible Cultural Heritage at the provincial level”.
Coloredglaze made in the ancient way or pâte-de-verre colored glaze, can be literallyknown as colored glaze. Colored glaze made in the ancientway falls under the category of colored glaze. It employs the specialtechniques to fire the “naturalcolored glaze stone”. The ancient pâte-de-verre crafts are employed totally in a manual methodto proceed with the manufacturing process. After a dozen of processes, it getsfinely polished. The natural colored glaze stone is accompanied by specifictechniques to get fired on a furnace, whose temperature is as high as 1000℃.With theseefforts, it isreshaped in gorgeous and awing handcraft. Its colors are magnificent, which exudes dazzling glows.
