At 8:00 on September 10, the tickets for the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed trains will be available for purchase both in Mainland and Hong Kong. On September 23, the Hong Kong section of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong will be officially opened! The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway is an important hub connecting Guangdong, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The Hong Kong section of the high-speed railway starts from West Kowloon Station and extends northward through a dedicated tunnel to the boundary between Lok Ma Chau and Shenzhen. It is connected to the mainland high-speed railway network. It is also an extension of the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway to Shenzhen and Hong Kong in China’s “four vertical and four horizontal” passenger lines.
Being named “Vibrant Express”, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway is an important part of China’s high-speed railway network, with a total length of 141 kilometers, including 115 kilometers in the Mainland section and 26 kilometers in the Hong Kong section.
From Qinhuangdao, we can choose to transfer in Beijing or Guangzhou to get to Hong Kong. The fare from West Kowloon to Beijing West Railway Station is 1077 yuan for the second-class seat, 1,724 yuan for the first-class seat and 3,369 yuan for the business seat. Passengers can use the Hong Kong dollar, RMB, Octopus Card, credit card and other means to purchase high-speed train tickets at the ticket-purchasing window. Also they could pay by WeChat, Alipay, etc.. One person could buy up to 10 tickets by the self-service ticket-purchasing machine.
The most important thing is that there is no need to get off after boarding the train for the border inspection after adopting the “one place and two inspections” method to take the train. The West Kowloon Terminus will set up the “Mainland Port Area” and the “Hong Kong Port Area” on the same floor. This is just a simplification of the entry and exit procedures, but the Hong Kong and Macau Pass is still needed to be applied for in advance.
