It has been late autumn, and it is time for viewing the reed catkins. The light and soft of reed catkins fly like the clouds floating in the sky, swaying in the autumn breeze, which looks very charming. As Yu Dafu once put it, “The best season for enjoying the reed catkins is the 10th month of the lunar calendar, when the reed catkins bloom like sharp swords, the scene under the moon looks even more excellent.” Now this is the best season as Yu Dafu said, and how can you miss it?
Shihe River
Shihe River is a place for viewing the reed catkins where Qinhuangdao people are more familiar with. Reeds grow in clusters along the shore. Before the flowering period, the reeds “swaying in the wind with its wild simplicity.” When the reeds bloom, the clusters of light reed catkins present you different charms.
Shihe River is a place favored by many photographers due to the concentrated flourishing reeds. Especially when the sun sets, the setting sun, the Shihe River, the bridge, and the reeds make a intoxicating autumn scene.
