The best times for bird watching are from March to late May, and mid-November. Celebrity Villas Tourism
The villas are typical old-fashioned buildings in Beidaihe. In 1898, the Qing government used this place as a summer resort for foreigners, therefore, celebrities and politicians from China and abroad came to build more than 700 villas in various architectural styles, 110 of which still remain. Thus, Beidaihe is hailed as the “World Architecture Museum” and has one of the four largest villa groups in China. Twenty modern villa groups are listed as national key cultural protection units.

The Garden Expo Park is located at Qiyun Hill in Qinhuangdao Economic and Technological Development Zone, north of Beidaihe Seashore, south of Zushan Scenic Spot, west of Haigang District downtown, and east of “Licheng” Funing District, with a total area of 2,000 mu and a total investment of 1.8 billion yuan. Based on the natural mountain topography of Qiyun Hill, the Garden Expo Park is planned out to form a spatial structure of “three valleys and one vein, three cores and two groups”.
