In order to further promote the high-quality development of rural tourism in the province, Hebei province takes the key rural tourism villages as the starting point to realize the improvement of the scale and quality of rural tourism, and launched the campaign of “Demonstration of hundred villages and creation of thousand villages”. 100 provincial-level key rural tourism villages were selected after grass-roots application, preliminary evaluation, assessment, and approval.
Let’s appreciate the charm of these two provincial key rural tourism villages!
Fangzhuang Village
Fangzhuang Village is under the jurisdiction of Shimenzhai Town. It is surrounded by mountains with beautiful scenery and unique natural ecological advantages for the development of rural tourism. The Laojunding Peak on the west side of the village, which is 493.7 meters high, is the highest peak in the northeast of the Yanshan Mountains. The Shihe River passes through the village and flows into Yansai Lake.
There are fruit trees like cherry, chestnut, and walnut, forming the picking gardens of thousand mu. Laojunding is named after the alchemy legend of the supreme god, and there are ruins of Taoist temple. In Laojunding Scenic Spot, you can appreciate flowers in spring, raft in summer, pick fruits in autumn, and skate and ski in winter.
Banchangyu Village
Banchangyu Village is affiliated to Zhucaoying Town. “Spring flowers, summer water, autumn maple, and winter snow, the bird view of Qinhuangdao” is the landscape of the village.
Banchang was part of Jizhen Town in ancient times. During the Jiaqing Years of Ming Dynasty, Qi Jiguang fought against the Japanese and won the war, he led 3,000 Yiwu soldiers to Banchangyu to guard the border and repair the Great Wall, and the village gradually shaped. It has been more than 400 years. And the Great Wall construction, military training and local culture have integrated ever since.
In addition to the unique landscapes and rich cultural resources of the Great Wall, there are three national-level cultural relics under protection-the Ming Great Wall brick kiln site, the billion-year crater, and the spotted hyena fossil.
