Hebei News Network (correspondent Cao Qingzhong, Zhang Jiaxiang): In order to further standardize the rescue procedures on the ice accident, and enhance the practical ability and cooperative operation, the ice rescue technology training class of the Hebei Province Fire Rescue Corps will conduct an actual rescue drill on the ice accident in Qinhuangdao on January 12.
This drill simulated that the ice suddenly collapsed in a large area and more than ten people were trapped in the water when one department organizing ice-breaking fishing activities in the frozen Yantaishan Reservoir in the Development Zone of Qinhuangdao due to insufficient prediction of the ice carrying capacity. The Qinhuangdao Fire Rescue Detachment quickly launched the rescue plan on the ice disaster on receiving the alarm, and requested the support from the ice rescue technology training class. All the participants in the training class responded quickly and headed for the site. The security team remotely detected the situation of the trapped people through the drone. At the same time, they evacuated people and cleared the site to avoid secondary disasters. The reconnaissance team conducted on-site assessment of the ice layers with ice anchors, probes, and mobile chainsaws, scientifically formulated rescue plans to provide decision-making basis for field command. The rescue team tried to rescue the trapped people with rescue tools such as inflatable boats, assault boats, life buoys, rescue ropes, horizontal bar ladders, rescue skateboards, and floating stretchers. The trapped people were rescued in half an hour, which fully demonstrated the swiftness, reasonableness, and professionalism of the training staff, and also brought a successful conclusion to the training class.
More than 60 rescue workers, over 10 rescue vehicles, fire fighting camp cars, and equipment support vehicles, and more than 300 sets of equipment for detection, lifesaving, and protection participated in this drill.
Qinhuangdao Fire Rescue Detachment provided logistical support for medical treatment, camping, and hot water for this drill. Detachment leader Zhang Hengbin and deputy chief of staff Lin Shiqun visited the participants.
