Notice on cracking down on Internet rumors in accordance with the law by Qinhuangdao Internet Information Office, and Qinhuangdao Public Security Bureau
Recently, the outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia has caused widespread concern in our city. In order to effectively maintain a good network environment, further regulate the release of information, and stabilize social order, Qinhuangdao Internet Information Office and Qinhuangdao Public Security Bureau issued a notice in accordance with the Criminal Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Cyber Security Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Public Security Management Penalties, the Regulations on the Ecological Governance of Internet Information Contents, and the Regulations on the Management of Internet Group Information Services, the content is as follows:
1. Improve the ability to identify Internet information, do not forward, disseminate, or spread unconfirmed and false information; do not arbitrarily disseminate audio, video, and textual information from non-authoritative sources; do not believe the gossip, make up rumors, or spread rumors.
2. Consciously resist online rumors, and actively report to the Internet information and public security departments if you found that screenshots, videos, audios, texts, and other information from unauthorized sources spreading on platforms such as WeChat groups, the Moments, Weibo, and web pages, etc..
3. The authoritative information released by the official authorities shall prevail, and the false, unidentified, unconfirmed, and false information shall be deleted in a timely manner; if it cannot be deleted, the rumor shall be promptly refuted to actively eliminate the adverse effects.
4. The Internet information and public security departments will resolutely crack down on those who publish, forward, or manage if false information or rumors released or transmitted through the Internet have caused serious social impact.
The netizens should keep in mind that the Internet is not a place outside the law. It is necessary to establish the sense of law, enhance the ability of identification, and jointly maintain a healthy and orderly network environment and social order with practical actions.
