On the afternoon of February 10, Qinhuangdao area suffered the strongest foggy weather this year, which caused some flight segments to be canceled, and more than 100 passengers were stranded at the Qinhuangdao Airport. Airport staff went all out to build temporary “home” for passing passengers
On the afternoon of the same day, the fog gradually thickened, and the visibility of the runway continued to decline. The flights were unable to execute the unfinished flight plan. 2 transit flights were postponed to the next day, which resulted in more than 100 passengers were stranded at the airport. As it is at the critical period of the epidemic prevention and control, most hotels have been closed and passenger buses shut down. On the basis of explanation and comfort of passengers, Qinhuangdao Airport staff made every effort to build temporary “home” for the passengers.
On the evening of that day, Qinhuangdao Airport was ablaze with lights, providing temporary rest places for the stranded passengers, and distributing blankets, quick meals and beverages to provide basic guarantees while trying to solve their difficulties. When they learned that 6 passengers wanted to return to Qinhuangdao, the staff member reported it to the duty leader in a timely manner and coordinated with the airport convoy. They dispatched a vehicle to deliver the 6 passengers to their destination safely. At the same time, they actively distributed masks to passengers 2 times in order to effectively prevent and control the epidemic, and disinfected and ventilated the terminal every 2 hours, so as to ensure a safe environment and warm “home” for the passengers.
