Women are no inferior to men in the battle against the epidemic
Sticking to the front line in despite of minor injuries
“Attention, please! Take it seriously, fellows!Stay at home! Keep away from each other. Don’t gather together for dinner. Keep everything sanitary ...” Every morning, Li Huizhi, secretary of the village party branch will kick off her day of the epidemic prevention and control with the loudspeaker .
Most of the villagers in Gouzhuangzi Village, Tuanlin Town, Changli County are engaged in scallops or tidal flat breeding. Many migrant workers live in the village, some of whom come from Sichuan, Hubei, and Northeast China. They had returned to their hometown before the Spring Festival. When she received the epidemic prevention and control tasks, Li Huizhi immediately organized women volunteers to detect the migrant workers, and called them not to return until the epidemic is over.
Due to the sudden outbreak of the epidemic, the village was short of money and protective equipment such as masks and disinfectants. Li Huizhi took the lead in organizing the Women’s Federation Executive Committee and volunteers to make donations. She herself donated nearly 2,000 yuan, which motivated other villagers, at last, a total of 28,720 yuan was donated to buy disinfectant and masks, which were distributed to the masses.
On February 6, it was very cold and the road was slippery due to the heavy snow. On her way to heat the volunteers on duty in the village, Li Huizhi accidentally fell and broke her arm. After being bandaged in the hospital, and resting at home for half a day, she returned to the checkpoint early with the injured arm hanging the next day ...

One for all
Bai Liying, 56-year-old secretary of the village party branch, was on duty at the checkpoint in Baijiawo Village, Panzhuang Town, Lulong County. Since the first day of the epidemic prevention and control, she and other members of “two committees” had been on duty three shifts, and she sometimes worked 20 hours a day for a long day shift.
Everyone knows that she has a daughter who is about to take the college entrance examination this year, but she couldn’t care much about her daughter and stuck on the front line of the prevention and control.
Bai Liying said that Baijiawo village on the Sanfu Line is a large village with 446 households and 1,224 people. The workload of household inspection is huge, and they must work hard. Since the epidemic prevention and control, in addition to implementing various measures, Bai Liying had had the difficulties in purchasing daily necessities for thousands of villagers after the lock down of the village. In order to solve these problems in time, she and the “two committees” members decided to set up a purchasing team and a purchasing station, to inform villagers to register what they need through WeChat group or mobile phone. The deputy secretary of village party branch and the accountant drove to the supermarket of Yanheying Town every two days to purchase the supplies for the villagers.
“In order to avoid unnecessary links, we have to advance the supplies, and get repayment when the villagers collect them at purchasing station.” sai Bai Liying, adding that they had not only bought daily necessities for the villagers since February 8, but also received express delivery, and the staff on duty would inform the villagers to pick it up.

Join the battle against the epidemic
On the 29th day of the 12th lunar month, Tian Yushuang, secretary of the party branch of Shizizhuang Village, Daxinzhai Town, Funing District, was informed to attend a meeting in the town government, and learned that the epidemic was severe. She was worried, because she knew that there were some villagers working in other provinces and regions although there was no college students in Hubei.
Chinese New Year is coming soon, and some people from other provinces had returned home, and some were on their way back. What if there were virus carriers among them? After returning to the village, Tian Yushuang immediately called for a village “two committees” meeting, to detect the returnees, require them to stay at home, and measure temperature twice a day.
What Tian Yushuang does every morning is to circularly broadcast the notices of the epidemic prevention and control, warning villagers to stay at home, not get together, gamble, visit relatives, reduce people movement, and keep personal hygiene, etc .
The Provincial Highway No. 261 divides Shizizhuang Village in two, and villagers live both sides of the Road. Tian Yushuang and the members of the “two committees” set up checkpoints and cordons at all intersections in the village, persuading villagers to stay in the village, and hanging publicity banners to call on party members to be on duty.
In order to prevent people from gathering and visiting relatives and friends, Tian Yushuang and village officials persuaded them door-to-door to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
