The Beacon Forts in the Old Days
The Dongjiakou Great Wall was a strategic pass to the Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty, which was one of the important forts of the Jizhen Great Wall, built by Qi Jiguang, the famous military commander of the Ming Dynasty. It was the north wing fort of Shanhaiguan ---- The First Pass under Heaven.

The Great Wall at Banchangyu section was also built by Qi Jiguang which is made of stone and blue bricks. It is about 15 kilometers on rugged terrain with majestic walls and beacon towers, the highest is built on the top of the mountain more than 800 meters high.
