On October 7, it is learned from the Municipal Tourism Commission that during the National Day, Qinhuangdao's tourism market was generally stable and orderly, and the number of tourists and tourism revenue have set a new record, achieving the goal of “security, order, quality, efficiency and civilization”. According to the statistics from October 1 to 7, Qinhuangdao has received a total of 2.964 million tourists and achieved a total tourism revenue of 3.57 billion yuan, an increase of 19.75% and 25.57% over the same period last year.
During the Golden Week of National Day this year, mountains and sea harmonious tourism and new business projects in Qinhuangdao were popular. Through vigorously developing all-in-one tourism and deepening the structural reform of the tourism supply side, Qinhuangdao has deepened the development of “tourism+” integration, and concentrated on creating some new tourism business projects such as characteristic tourist towns and rural leisure tourism, and improved some public service facilities and infrastructure, which have effectively enhanced Qinhuangdao's multiple tourism functions such as cultural experience, tourism services and leisure vacation. Sea flower art town with beautiful flowers all over the mountain, the newly upgraded Jifa agricultural dream kingdom, the Qinhuangdao Garden Expo with more than 500 plant species, the grape town with autumn scenery, and sea-experiencing yachts and sailboats have attracted many tourists during the National Day.
During National Day, the Municipal Tourism Commission organized some scenic spots and hotels to give discounts or package tickets to citizens so that they can share Qinhuangdao’s tourism achievements. The First Pass under Heaven, the Old Dragon’s Head and Meng Jiangnv Temple launched a half-price preferential policy for the citizens, the ticket price of the Entering Point of the First Emperor of Qin’s Pursuit of Immortals into the Sea, Xin’ao Aquarium, and Laojunding scenic spot reduced sharply. Jifa and the Pigeon’s Nest in Beidaihe, Zushan Mountain in Qinglong, Sand-skiing Center in Changli, and Fishing Island in Beidaihe New Districthave also launched a series of preferential policies for local citizens. The unprecedented efforts of benefiting people have effectively stimulated the enthusiasm of the citizens and satisfied the diverse consumption needs of tourists.
Affected by online travel and free highways, self-driving and self-help tour has become common for tourists. Tourists from surrounding cities are still the main source of travel during the National Day. According to the statistics of the holiday tourism market sample survey, tourists were mostly young people and the proportion between the ages of 14 and 44 was 88%. Free travel, which is dominated by self-driving tour, accounts for more than 56% of the total. Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei and Northeast of China are still the main source of the tourists, accounting for 62% of the total. Meanwhile, the number of tourists from Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Henan, and Shandong has increased significantly with the continuous increase of publicity and marketing efforts.
