Qinhuangdao (The Great Wall Network/reporter Zu Di, correspondent Cao Jianxiong)-- Recently, officers from Qinhuangdao Navigation Marks Office of the Beihai Navigation Support Center replaced the light devices of the Nanshantou Lighthouse in Haigang District of Qinhuangdao City.
The lighthouse was built in 1900 and has undergone three reconstructions. Over the past few years, the Nanshantou Lighthouse has been continuously developed with upgraded technologies. The large-scale IMA-800 revolving light device replaced in 2009 has been in service with stable condition for 11 years, and exerted good navigational aids. However, many parts of it have undergone aging and abrasion due to the long-term continuous operation.
In order to better guarantee the navigational effectiveness of the Nanshantou Lighthouse, Qinhuangdao Navigation Marks Office decided to upgrade the light devices and power distributions of the Nanshantou Lighthouse, replacing the old lights with LED navigation marks revolving lights, which is the large-scale navigation light device with an integrated structure of main and backup lights. Its LED light source and control system are at the advanced international level, and the control system has functions of revolving, luminous control and remote control. The relevant operating parameters of the lights can be remotely set and queried, and communication methods such as Beidou and NB-IOT are accessible. The main light source is composed of 27 independent high-power LEDs, which is a regular trihedral light array, with a maximum range of 27 nautical miles; the emergency standby light is a 50W flash light, which operates independently, with a maximum range of 10 nautical miles. It aims to demonstrate the boosting role of technology in the development of intelligent and digital navigation aids, and to improve the maritime support capability of Qinhuangdao Port.
