In recent years, it has been a custom for visitors to watch the birds from a distance outside the beach fences of the Beidaihe Wetland Reserve, so as to keep the peace of the bird paradise, while an aerial drone disturbed the harmony a few days ago.
At about 7:00 am on September 13, Beidaihe Wetland Reserve was bathed in the morning light, and the birds were reflected on the shallow water. Some photography enthusiasts from Qinhuangdao Bird Watching (Loving) Association were taking pictures of the beautiful scenery on the Chitushan Bridge outside the reserve when they found a “strange bird” buzzing and flying over the wetland reserve. “Isn’t that a drone?” they wondered.
“There are warning signs prohibiting drone entry in many places near the wetland. It will disturb the birds! Who on earth is doing that?” These photographers soon found the guy who was remote controlling his drone, and his car with a Tianjin license plate parked on the Chitushan Bridge.
The guy got back his drone and drove away when he realized someone was watching him. “It might be a loss that cannot be made up for many years once the birds are frightened. It was really annoying.” They worried.
Aerial photography with drones in the wetland reserve is prohibited, the policemen patrol the reserve every day, we should abide by the regulations, and call 110 if any violation was found, according to an officer surnamed Shan on September 14 when he learned about the story.
According to Dongshan Police Station of the Beidaihe Public Security Bureau, no report about the drone was receive that day, but the police also urged citizens to call 110 if such kind of thing happened.
