On the afternoon of November 23, the theme activity of “Loving birds, protecting birds, prohibiting eating of wild animals” was held in Pigeon Nest Park, Beidaihe District, Qinhuangdao City. More than 100 birds were released to nature including the 2nd class national protected birds golden eagles, long-eared owl, and short-eared owls.

The purpose of this activity is to protect wild animals, prohibit illegal wildlife trade, eliminate the habit of eating wild animals, and create a good atmosphere for the protection of forests, wetlands, and birds, so that more people will be involved in the undertaking of protecting the forest, wetland, wildlife and ecological environment.
These birds are all injured wild birds discovered and rescued by citizens and volunteers, which have been recovered with careful treatment, they can find their population in the season of migration.

Qinhuangdao City has launched 16 rescue and release activities of wild birds since 2006, involving more than 20,000 people.
