Fishing boats are moored with cables at the estuary of the Tanghe River. The beach is clean and tidy only with a few rows of wheel marks... It feels like the simple fishing village scores of years ago but for the tall buildings and cars on the roadside.
Residents nearby know that it was still a mess just a few days ago—fishing boats, kayaks, speedboats and other private maritime devices were in a muddle. Domestic garbage can be seen everywhere on the beach, piling up in corners, or mixing in the sand. And fishing cages hid somewhere.
Since November 22, the Bureau of Ocean and Fishery of Qinhuangdao has conducted rectification of the fishing wharfs and beaches with the “Bay Chief System”, safe production, epidemic prevention and control, and environmental sanitation, and the estuary of Tanghe RIver is one of the important points.
During the campaign, the Bureau Ocean and Fishery of Qinhuangdao has established a daily inspection mechanism, issuing the lists of safety production, epidemic inspection, and environmental inspection, with special personnel being responsible for them. A total of 67 law enforcement officers have been dispatched to investigate the estuaries, and handle the problems they found. At the estuary of Tanghe River, the officers tried to persuade illegal maritime devices to leave, and expelled those who would not listen. 77 speedboats were dissuaded, 9 boats forced out, and 35 illegal ground cages impounded.
In response to the chaotic stacking of items and the disorderly management of the fishing boats in the wharf, the Bureau Ocean and Fishery of Qinhuangdao carried out three inspections on the wharf from November 25 to 28, and rectified the fire equipment and piles of debris. Five illegal ships were forcibly taken away and are currently undergoing law enforcement procedures. In addition, the chaotic item piles and floating objects in the sea area of the wharf have all been rectified on that day.
“In the next step, we will continue to improve the inspection system, establish a long-term mechanism, continue to strengthen law enforcement, and ensure stable fishery order and better marine ecological environment.” said the director of the Bureau Ocean and Fishery of Qinhuangdao.
