The “Development and Application of New Loading Device for Large Blast Furnace Top” Appraisal Meeting of Scientific and Technological Achievements was held by the China Machinery Industry Federation in Qinhuangdao Qinye Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. on December 25, which was conducted by Huang Qingxue, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, president of Taiyuan University of Technology, and director of the appraisal committee.
This scientific and technological achievement was jointly completed by Qinhuangdao Qinye Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., and CISDI Engineering Co., Ltd. After listening to the research report of the project team, inspecting the equipment manufacturing site, learning about the equipment operation, and reviewing relevant appraisal materials, the appraisal committee drew a conclusion that the “New Loading Device for Large Blast Furnace Top” has made great breakthroughs in many aspects such as principle, structure, and control, its core technology has independent intellectual property rights, solving the problem of domestic large-scale blast furnace top equipment, and breaking the foreign monopoly, the overall technology reached the international leading level of similar furnace top equipment, and passed the scientific and technological achievements appraisal.
Huang Qingxue, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Taiyuan University of Technology, said that this scientific and technological achievement is of great significance, solving the technical problem with innovations. It is important in the steel production sector, and should be promoted and applied in blast furnaces as soon as possible.
At present, this scientific and technological achievement has been successfully applied in Baosteel Zhanjiang, and promoted to South Korea, Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey, and Ukraine. 46 patents have been obtained and 35 theses published. There are three major innovations: the high-precision control technology for the top hydraulic circuit; the new distribution cooling and sealing device, which reduces the cooling water consumption by 31% and the nitrogen consumption by 67%; the new distributing chute, which doubles the service span of the chute, and the throat three fold.
As the “throat” of the blast furnace, the furnace top equipment is very important for loading and distributing, relating to air distribution, consumption of raw materials and fuels, and output in the blast furnace. In the past 40 years, furnace top equipment technology has been monopolized by foreign companies. As a leading enterprise in domestic blast furnace equipment manufacturing, Qinhuangdao Qinye Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. has focused on innovation to improve the technology, and developed the furnace top equipment.
