The Spring Festival travel rush of 2021 starts on January 28 and ends on March 8, totaling 40 days. It is less crowded in the station than previous years due to the normalized epidemic prevention and control.
Ma Chengbang, deputy station director of Qinhuangdao Railway Station, said, “This Spring Festival travel rush is different. Many people do not return to their hometowns or reduce their trips. They choose to stay locally during the holiday, which makes the scale of population flow significantly lower than that of previous years. But we are not quite sure about that, at least now the passenger flow at the railway station is not very high, so that we can focus on implementing epidemic prevention and control measures.”

During the Spring Festival travel rush, Qinhuangdao Railway Station strengthened the organization of passenger flow, adopting measures such as diverting passengers, reducing mass gatherings, keeping social distance at entry and exit passages, waiting areas, ticket halls, etc., putting up stickers of “Do not sit side by side” on chairs, and publicizing epidemic prevention and control measures with radios and televisions.
Ma Chengbang said that they have increased the frequency of disinfections of elevators, toilets, self-service ticket machines, door handles, and handrails in waiting rooms, service desks, and ticketing halls. In addition, they have also strengthened the control of the staff, requiring them to wear masks and disposable gloves, and take body temperature every day. At present, the staff members of the station are on duty round the clock, assisting local government and trains to do a good job in quarantining and transmitting patients, checking, registering and persuading passengers, emergency (terminal) disinfection, trace inspection, information submission, etc.
According to the railway station, the schedule might change in accordance with passenger flow during the Spring Festival travel rush. Please pay attention to the station announcement or the information on the 12306 website. Passengers shall take personal protection, take temperature, scan itinerary code and health code, keep social distance, and do not carry inflammable, explosive and other dangerous goods and prohibited items.
