The Great Wall Network (Reporter Zu Di, Correspondent Wang Xiaolei)—Affected by strong wind for 30 hours since January 28, Qinhuangdao MSA (Maritime Safety Administration) has reduced temporary traffic control to 1 hour and 30 minutes according to safety management requirements and actual wind changes, dispersing 63 ships in an orderly and efficient manner, and guarantying the marine transportation of more than 600,000 tons of key civilian assets.
In order to ensure the safety and smooth flow of Qinhuangdao Port, the water transportation hub port during the Spring Festival travel rush, Qinhuangdao Maritime Safety Administration took measures such as strengthening extreme weather warning and prevention, and opening up green channels for supplies of epidemic prevention and control and key livelihood materials, to resolve the adverse effects of frequent and alternate disastrous weather such as cold waves, gales, heavy fog and sea ice, and ensure the stability of the electricity and coal transportation, and a happy Spring Festival for the people of southern China.
According to the MSA, during the Spring Festival travel rush of 2021 (January 28 to March 8), about 400 ships will transport more than 18 million tons of thermal coal, 200,000 tons of crude oil, and 160,000 tons of grain and oil to across the country from Qinhuangdao City.
