At 10 o’clock in the morning, Jiahui Supermarket Yufengli store set a special subsidized vegetable and meat counter in the fresh food area, with eye-catching banners and yellow price tags over the discounted goods, attracting many citizens to buy.

The offering is from February 5th to the 11th (the 24th to the 30th of the twelfth lunar month) in 30 stores of 9 large supermarkets including Jiahui, Ugrant, Yonghui and Maoye, covering beef, pork, mutton, cabbages, green onions, leeks, beans, green peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, white radishes, garlic sprouts, and broccoli. The price of the meat is 3 yuan/kg lower than the market price, and vegetables 20% lower.
According to Tang Haishan, chief of the Circulation Development and Consumption Promotion Section of the Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Commerce of Qinhuangdao City, they planned to offer subsidized meat and vegetables of 90,000 tons and 150,000 kg, respectively. “We have 30 stores to sell the subsidized meat and vegetables this year, covering all regions in counties and districts, and the varieties of the vegetables are extended to 10 compared with 5 in the previous years.”
