On January 29, 2021, CRSBG successfully won the bid for the CT-A6 bid, the largest tender for the steel truss and steel tower manufacturing project of the main project of the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge (cross-river section), with a contract value of 1.97 billion yuan, which is the bid with the largest contract value since the CB01 section of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in 2009.
Changtai Yangtze River Bridge is the world’s first cross-river passage, integrating expressways, intercity railways and first-class highways. Its main channel is a cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 1,176 meters, which will hit a new world record for a road-rail cable-stayed bridge.
The bridge across the river adopts a double-deck cable-stayed design for the main channel. The upper layer of the bridge is a highway, and the lower layer is an intercity railway and ordinary highway. The special channel bridge connecting Tianxingzhou and Lu’anzhou on both sides adopts steel truss arch design, which will be the largest road-rail steel truss arch bridge in the world.
The steel truss girder and steel tower manufacturing project is a control project of the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge, which is also the most important yet difficult part of the project. With their dedication and wisdom, CRSBG will build the bridge as a model landmark project in Jiangsu province for the construction of a strong transportation country, a milestone project for China’s super long-span and multi-functional bridge, and a classic project with internationally leading bridge construction technology.
