Funing Song Blowing, also called Funing Wind and Drum Music, has a history of more than four hundred years. Compared with the suona performances in other places in China, Funing Song Blowing is more lively with fresh and vigorous tones, and rich in local flavor. It is listed as a national intangible cultural heritage, and the Funing District of Qinhuangdao City is also known as “The Hometown of Song Blowing in China”.
Many training centers have been established in Funing District to better inherit and promote the art of Song Blowing, and more and more young people come to learn this ancient art.
