The Great Wall Network (Wang Zhenjun)—Spring comes as the first season of the year, and the giant dragon raises its head on the second day of the lunar month. The Lion and Dragon Dance Competition on Ice was held at the First Pass under Heaven and the Old Dragon’s Head in Shanhaiguan District, Qinhuangdao City to celebrate the Longtaitou Festival on March 13.
Nineteen dragon and lion performance teams gathered at the “head of the dragon” of the Great Wall, to compete by means of required routines and optional routines.

The competition was held on the Longtaitou Festival, which falls on the second day of the lunar month. Visitors can not only appreciate the splendid performances, but also join many traditional rituals such as touching the dragon head, hanging the blessing card, tying the blessing knot, cutting the dragon hair, to celebrate the Longtaitou Festival.
The event will be concluded on March 14 after two days celebration.
