As one of the business cards of traditional Chinese art, the seal is the quintessence of China, but it is a relatively unpopular art for primary school students. A seal cutting club was established in the Second Primary School of Qinhuangdao Development Zone, aiming to let students feel the connotation beauty and rich vitality of Chinese characters in the seal, and bring them close to the art of seal.
The seal cutting teacher Lou Yang launched activities in accordance with the age, teaching students in the lower grades seal script, and students in the middle and upper grades cutting stone. The printing bed, the Qingtian stone, the carving knife... all kinds of seal cutting tools have become the link between the students and the traditional Chinese culture.
Seal cutting refers to the seal carved with seal script. It is a kind of practical work of art that integrates calligraphy, painting and carving, which is cut on the printed materials according to the patterns of calligraphy works or pictures, it is practical and beautiful.
The Second Primary School of the Development Zone, as the first pilot school of “seal cutting art on campus” and a model school of seal cutting education in Qinhuangdao City, includes seal cutting education into the curriculum of characteristic clubs, opening up a new way of traditional cultural education.
