Recently, the new varieties of flowers and plants introduced by the Bureau of Landscape and Gardening of Haigang District have entered the cultivation period, and they will be planted to adorn the roads, parks and gardens when it gets warmer.
Guo Yingjie, head of the Nursery Management Office of the Bureau of Landscape and Gardening of Haigang District, said, “There are two kinds of grasses that change color, blue fescue and stipa. Blue fescue has good drought resistance and is especially suitable for the local natural environment and climatic conditions. The drier the climate is, the bluer the grass will be, which can enrich the color of the plant landscape. About 30 cm high, the stipe looks like horse’s tail, and will turn yellow in autumn, making a beautiful landscape.”
