On March 28, the result release conference on “Empirical Research on the Development of Regional Research Resources”, a national educational science “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” project, was held at Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao. A series of results of regional research topics were released at the conference, and the textbooks such as “Regional Research Theory and Practice” “Regional Research Practice” “Smart Life Research System” “Smart Experience Education Information Service Platform” and “Smart Life Research Courses” were highlighted and released.

In recent years, Qinhuangdao City has actively organized elementary and middle school students to carry out research and experience education activities, and conduct study on research theory and practice, participating in national key projects of Peking University, independently undertaking national educational science “13th Five-Year Plan” project “Empirical Research on the Development of Regional Research Resources”, and has achieved rich results. 600,000 students have been involved in the research and experience education, which effectively improved the overall quality of the majority of primary and middle school students, and received extensive attention and full recognition from all walks of life.

Regional research is an off-campus practice education that relies on regional research resources and local educational conditions, which is managed by the government, supported by many departments, organized by schools, and implemented by research institutions, aiming to promote the effective implementation of research experience education. It is conducive to building a research education ecology, realizing a specialized, standardized, and scientific practical experience education, forming a long-term mechanism for practical experience education, promoting the coordinated development of regional economy and culture, and building a window of cooperation and sharing that connects society, families, and schools.
The release of the results of the smart life research system, the smart experience education information service platform, and the smart life research courses will provide resources for comprehensive practical activities and experience courses, which is important to build a three-dimensional off-campus research experience education network that integrates knowledge and practice, online and offline activities, schools and families, and communities and bases.
