Recently, the news comes that another high-speed rail is coming to Qinhuangdao! The Circum-Bohai-Sea high-speed rail is about to being constructed in December, and in 2021 it will be completed and open to traffic. China’s high-speed rail has attracted worldwide attention, and the high-speed rail network will be the most important transportation system in China in the future.
This new Bohai high-speed rail will have four stations in Qinhuangdao, namely Changli East Station, Beidaihe Station, Qinhuangdao Station and Shanhaiguan Station. After the completion of the entire line, it will connect with Weihai, Yantai, Weifang, Dongying, Binzhou, Dezhou, Tianjin, Tangshan, Qinhuangdao, Dalian and other places.
From a strategic sense, Circum-Bohai-Sea high-speed rail will help to establish a rapid, efficient and convenient transportation link within the Circum-Bohai-Sea economic circle, especially the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Shandong Peninsula, Liaodong Peninsula, and different cities in these three major sections. The transportation links will promote the comprehensive and coordinated development of Circum-Bohai-Sea economy, and relieve the transportation pressure of the three major railway lines---Beijing-Shenyang, Beijing-Shanghai and Beijing-Guangzhou.
Qinhuangdao is a node city radiating from Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei to the northeast. It is an important port city in the Circum-Bohai-Sea area, and an important seaport in North China, Northeast China and Northwest China. It is also the intersection of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development and the strategy of revitalizing the Northeast China.
Qinhuangdao’s location advantages include the coastal area, while the core advantage lies in the mountain-sea transportation network built by railways and highways. The Circum-Bohai-Sea intercity railway docks with Tianjin-Qinhuangdao passenger line, links Tianjin, Tangshan and Qinhuangdao together, and docks Huanghua withTianjin to the south.
The Circum-Bohai-Sea intercity railway closely related to Qinhuangdao is mainly divided into three sections.
North section (Dalian - Qinhuangdao section)
It is composed of the built Harbin-Dalian Passenger Line, Panjin-Yingkou Passenger Line and Qinhuangdao-Shenyang Passenger Line, mainly through Yingkou, Panjin, Huludao and other places.
Middle section (Qinhuangdao - Huanghua section)
Sometimes it is also known as the Qinhuangdao-Huanghua Passenger line, which is planning. It will mainly pass through Jingtang Port, Caofeidian in Hebei Province and Hangu, Tanggu and Dagang in Tianjin, to Huanghua in Hebei Province.
Qinhuangdao-Huanghua Passenger Line (planning)
It is divided into two sections: Qinhuangdao-Caofeidian and Caofeidian- Huanghua (centered on Caofeidian). Qinhuangdao-Caofeidian intercity railway (planning) will start from Qinhuangdao and arrive at Caofeidian New Town via Beidaihe, Changli and Jingtang Port. This line will connect with the Qinhuangdao-Shenyang Passenger Line at Qinghuangdao Station to the northeast.
In recent years, thanks to the national strategy of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration, Qinhuangdao traffic has become more and more convenient, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei one-hour traffic circle has taken shape.
For Qinhuangdao, the four-dimensional public transportation network of sea, land, air and high-speed railway has brought great convenience to the urban economic development and residents’ travel.
