A ruddy shelduck trapped in a tree was rescued by the firefighters.
At 11:37 on June 7, a ruddy shelduck was found being wired in a tree near Qianshuiwan Bathing Beach in Beidaihe District, Qinhuangdao City. Someone called the 119 and contacted the Wildlife Conservation Center.
The ruddy shelduck is a class 2 bird under state protection. It is slightly bigger than domestic ducks, with reddish brown body, white spots and copper-green edge on the wings, and black beak, feet and tail, the male bird has a black ring on the neck.
The staff of Lianfeng Road Station of Beidaihe Brigade of Qinhuangdao Fire Rescue Detachment and the Municipal Wildlife Conservation Center found a ruddy shelduck was wired in a 6-meter tree, and its right wing got injured. They fastened the waist axe and the safety rope, casting a rope to entangle the duck, and taking it down to the Wildlife Conservation Center for treatment.
Qinhuangdao Fire Department reminds citizens to call 119 or contact the Wildlife Conservation Center if state protected animals were found. Don’t purchase or raise wild animals for the sake of the ecological environment and your own safety.
