On July 9, Qinhuangdao Maritime Safety Administration, Qinhuangdao Navigation Mark Office of Beihai Navigation Security Center, Qinhuangdao Communication Center of Beihai Navigation Security Center, Qinhuangdao Daily and Qinhuangdao Port Museum launched activities to promote navigation knowledge among youngsters, greeting the 17th Maritime Day of China, and creating a cultural atmosphere for water traffic safety.
Nearly 60 “Omnimedia Reporters”and more than 40 parents and teachers participated in the event.

“Little reporters” paid visit to the China Navigation Mark Museum, Qinhuangdao Port Museum, Qinhuangdao Nanshantou Lighthouse, and Nanshantou Radar Tower, and witnessed a transportation power and marine power in the changes of the port and the development of navigational technology.
They learned about the performance and characteristics of various vessels through the navigation simulator, which aroused their passion and enthusiasm for navigation.
They took a close look at the navigation marks, fire detection suits, and ship security inspection equipment, learned about the functions and performances of signal lights and radars, broadened knowledge of navigation and maritime affairs, and aroused their awareness of protecting the marine ecological environment.
They learned how to use life jackets and life buoys, which has effectively improved teenagers’ awareness of water traffic safety and self-rescue ability in water emergencies.

Teenagers learned maritime knowledge acting as the little omnimedia reporters, which inspired them to love the ocean and protect the ocean, and improved their cultural confidence, national sense of pride, and consciousness of passing on excellent Chinese sailing culture.
