Golden beaches, green woods, and blue water complement each other, and the newly renovated wooden trestle stretching 10,000 meters is like a dark red ribbon.
“I am fond of this road, the scenery on both sides is amazing, and I am pleased to have a walk on this wooden trestle.” said Li Xuemei, a tourist from Beijing.
The wooden trestle starts from the sports base in the east, passes through the Jinwu Bathing Beach, Repulse Bay, and ends at the Pigeon Nest Scenic Spot, with a total length of 10.29 kilometers.
It was put into use six years ago and has gone through rains, storms and tides, which caused serious damage to the trestle and the lights, as well as the experience of tourists and citizens getting close to the sea.
Under the guidance of the municipal government, the Municipal Bureau of Marine Fisheries renovated the wooden trestle to meet the peak tourist season, taking the renovation as a major livelihood project and a tourism environment upgrade project.
The renovation project has been completed as of July 10, nearly 10 days ahead of the schedule.
The Municipal Bureau of Marine Fisheries made plans to repaint the wooden trestle, replace the rotten keels, remove the sand, lift the trestle, and increase the lights with uninterrupted turtle-back lighting, which makes a quiet and romantic atmosphere at night, and it is good for tourists and citizens to entertain themselves and have a rest.
Cao Xianfeng, a fourth-level investigator of the Municipal Bureau of Marine Fisheries, said that they have spared no effort to meet the schedule, adopting multiple working faces for simultaneous construction, which greatly improved construction efficiency.
It is hot in June and July, and the excessive rainfall made the work even harder, however, the workers pushed aside all the obstacles, and finished the mission within only 30 days instead of the planned 40 days.
A total of 10.29 kilometers of wooden trestles were renovated, 9,233 square meters of panel boards were replaced, 68,400 square meters were painted, 1,635 meters were lifted, 2,015 turtle-back lights were installed, which greatly improved the wooden trestle and restored its functions of entertainment and fitness.
Now citizens and tourists can enjoy the wooden trestle again.
The wooden trestle connects many famous scenic spots: the Sports Base, the Repulse Bay, the Wildlife Park, and the Pigeons’ Nest Park that are like pearls strung by this silk thread, adding new charm to the coastline of Qinhuangdao.
