On September 5, the Bo Kui’s Chinese Freehand Flower and Bird Painting Exhibition kicked off at the Longxi Art Center in Qinhuangdao, which was the third stop of the national touring exhibition following the National Tour at the Forbidden City in Beijing and the Guanshanyue Art Center in Shenzhen.
The exhibition was sponsored by the Municipal Bureau of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Film and Television, the Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Publicity Department of the Haigang District Party Committee, co-organized by the Hebei Chinese Painting Association, and undertaken by the Qinhuangdao Longxi Art Center and Qinhuangdao Tianmei Art Training School.
Bo Kui was born in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, and lives in Beijing now.
He is a professor at the Painting Academy of Renmin University of China, a national first-class artist, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, and the curator of the Bo Kui Art Center.
He has participated in many national art exhibitions, held more than 50 solo exhibitions at home and abroad, and published lots of personal collections.
Bo Kui said that he chose the Longxi Art Center as the third stop of the national tour exhibition because he was moved by the curator Gao Junhua’s dedication to spreading and promoting Chinese culture and art, and impressed by the scale of the venue, super facilities and exhibits of the Longxi Art Center.
100 freehand paintings of flowers and birds were exhibited to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and extend his sincere love for the party and the country.
Bo Kui created a 10-meter painting “Scent of Lotus” for the exhibition. The lotus flowers come out of the silt but not imbrued, embodying purity and spotless quality. The works are magnificent, elegant in meaning, and profound in artistic conception.
The 36-meter scroll “Hundred Chicken” is eye-catching in this exhibition. The chickens painted by Bo Kui are of great momentum, noble, and full of fun and culture. He paints most of his freehand chickens with passion on a huge scroll, impressing viewers with strong visual impact.
The exhibition will start on September 5 and run through September 30.
