Qinhuangdao Bird Museum
Qinhuangdao Bird Museum is located at Gechi Road in Beidaihe Seaside, and is an important part of Geziwo (The Pigeon’s Nest) Park. The exhibition area is 1,650 square meters. In order to better popularize the knowledge of bird science to the majority of tourists and bird lovers, Beidaihe District upgraded the Bird Museum in 2018. The new museum created 7 theme exhibitions using a variety of methods like multi-media interaction, real-world experience, and other exhibition methods to create seven theme exhibition areas: twitters in forest and flowers, birds exploration, capital of bird watching, birds’ habitat, bird fun sharing, birds and mankind, and flying with birds. It has become a bird theme museum in China with the most professional science popularization, the most abundant exhibition methods and the smartest interactive experience.
Twitters in forest and flowers
Here, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the hovering seagulls and the rising sun on the Dachao Ping, and feel the harmony between migratory birds and nature.
Birds exploration
The exhibition area mainly shows you the popular science such as origin of birds, general view of birds, birds contribution, birds habit, birds shape and structure, colorful feather, magical bird eye, and wonderful twitters via pictures, models, scenes, AR, and videos etc. You will learn more about their species, distribution, shape, structure and habits.
Capital of bird watching
As early as in 1898, foreigners were recorded by video watching birds in Beidaihe. Today, the number of birds and species found in Qinhuangdao is one of best in the world. Qinhuangdao is the " Capital of Bird Watching in China" and a world-class bird-watching place. It is known as "the Bird Watching Mecca".
You can also see some of the bird specimens in Qinhuangdao, which looks lifelike and vivid. There are 524 species of birds found in Qinhuangdao till now, including 84 species of first-class and second-class protected birds. If you want to get more bird information, you can check it on the interactive touch screen of the Bird Museum.
Birds’ habitat
Qinhuangdao is an important stay post for bird migration. The rich and diverse ecological environment attracts thousands of birds to stay here. Pictures and texts are used to show the superior geographical location and resource advantages of Qinhuangdao as a stay post for migratory birds. At the same time, through projection and touch screen linkage, it shows the representative birds that can be seen at various bird watching spots on Qinhuangdao, and the hemispherical dynamic map to vividly show the birds migration route.
Bird fun sharing
You can learn about the bird's anecdote through the bird's-shaped touch screen, understand the uncommon bird's name through the interactive puzzle on the wall, find out the first of birds and the national bird of major countries in the world, and study the poems, music and artistic works related to birds, and various names of birds with uncommon words through interactive multi-media table.

On the exhibition wall, you can see the picture of the birds that have disappeared, and you can join our bird-loving campaign to protect this natural elf together!
Flying with birds
In order to let you experience the feeling of flying with birds, we use VR glasses, spliced screens, dynamic platform, and high-definition video to transform you into a bird in the blue sky flying from Kasinharaga rainforest of Sri Lanka to Dunedin of New Zealand and South Georgia Island of Chile, through the clouds, along the Great Wall, reach Shanhaiguan, Beidaihe Scenic Spots and arrive at the bird paradise.
