The Pigeon Nest Park
Located in the northeast corner of the seashore in Beidaihe, it is named after a huge boulder like an eagle standing on the cliff of more than 20 meters formed by the fault of the stratum, where used to be the habitat of wild pigeons.
"Red Sun Bathing in the Sea"
When it comes to watching the sunrise at the sea, the Pigeon Nest Park is definitely the first choice for everyone. The famous “Red Sun Bathing in the Sea” attracts countless tourists to come.
When the red sun rises from the sea, a faint halo of light slowly emerges in the distance, and gradually illuminates the entire sky. Tourists earnestly take pictures using mobile phones or cameras with long or short lens, for fear of missing any wonderful moment.
Yingjiao Pavilion
It is built with mountain-type single eaves roof, stone pillars and glazed tiles, the high-hanging plaque······ All of these display the sense of simplicity and rigidity, and show the traditional Chinese architectural style. After decades of rain and wind, it is still here accompanying tourists. Here it is--the Yingjiao Pavilion.
The “Yingjiao Pavilion” plaque was written by Mr. Hu Juewen, the then Vice Chairman of the National People’s Congress, in the spring of 1989. In 1986, the district government invested more than 3 million to repair the Pigeon Nest Park and opened it to the public in the same year.
Statue of Chairman Mao
The statue of Chairman Mao is 3.2 meters high and the imitation granite pedestal is 2.7 meters high. The famous poetry “Langtaosha Beidaihe” written by Chairman Mao was engraved on the marble in the east part of the pedestal.
Facing the sea and looking far away from the direction of Chairman Mao’s gaze, we might have the same thoughts, the worries in our daily life, the impetuousness in the bustling city that distract us will be swept away, our heart will return to calm with the sound of the waves.
