(By Meng Xiaodong) Inner Mongolia and the surrounding area of Hebei province have always been the main tourist source destination of Qinhuangdao. During April 4th to 27th, Beidaihe New District Tourism Culture and Sports Bureau and Beidaihe district Tourism Bureau, united with domestic star-rated hotel, prominent tourist attractions and news media, constituted a caravan promotional group of 28 people, aiming to publicize the tourism products of Beidaihe’s life and health industry innovation demonstration zone, consolidate the tourist source market and deepen the tourism cooperation with the tourist source cities. This group successively came to Tongliao city and Chifeng city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region as well as Chengde city of Hebei province, to launch an extensive promotional campaign with the theme of "international tourism landmark, coastal recreation site".
The seaside resort attracts attention
At the end of 2016, the State Council approved the establishment of the Beidaihe life and health industry innovation demonstration zone.
For more than one year, Beidaihe New District and Beidaihe district have introduced several health tourism projects and products, developed many new types of tourism products successively, completed a series of high-end tourism projects, and gradually formed a five-in-one (Medical care, Medicine, Convalescence, Health, Travel) life healthy industry cluster. The two districts are striving and advancing side by side to build an "ideal destination for health and wellness tourism" from every aspects.
“The perimeters of Inner Mongolia and Hebei province are our main source of tourists. This promotional activity presents new changes and new looks of Beidaihe New District to local tourism enterprises, and introduces health regimen elements and new types of leisure tourism products to local residents. Thus a new channel of development and communication for both sides is opened.” The deputy director of the tourism culture and sports bureau of Beidaihe New District Sun Yingwei said, to better expand the customer market, Beidaihe New District plans to carry out promotional activities around high-speed rail and air routes in the next step, expanding the tourist source city of Beidaihe New District from the surrounding area to the market of medium and long distance.
Beidaihe — A fantastic resort to relax and keep healthy. During the presentations and promotional activities, the heads of relevant municipal tourism department introduced the tourism resources there, while over ten tourism enterprises such as Paradise of Hearts and Jifa Agricultural Dream King displayed their products. The campaign was launched in three cities respectively, and more than 160 travel agents and over 20 local media on invitation gave high praise to our city's health and wellness tourism resources.
“Qinhuangdao is a close cooperative partner of Tongliao in tourism with broad space for cooperation”, said Xin Xin, section chief of tourism promotion department of Tongliao Tourism Commission. The promotion not only built a new channel of information exchange between Tongliao and Qinhuangdao, brought new opportunities for self-driving tourism as well as economic and trade interaction, but also opened a new chapter of exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.
The government sets up the stage and enterprises put in the show
"Qinhuangdao is the nearest coastal tourist city from Chifeng. We send tourist groups there every year, which has achieved good results. This promotional activity not only has brought many new products and routes to Chifeng residents, but also has inspired the thinking of tourism workers in Chifeng. We have seen the development of tourist routes in Beidaihe and Beidaihe New District, as well as the improvement of tourism environment." said Qi Wenjie, the director of Yun Qing Travel Agency Co. Ltd in Chifeng.
During the market promotion activity, the traveling agencies who participated in the conference contacted with tourism enterprises in our city and conducted an in-depth discussion on the contents of preliminary cooperation. Travel agencies and the media said that they’ve gained a profound understanding of Qinhuangdao’s history, beauty and tourism products for health and wellness. The government has brought tourism enterprises into contact with each other so that the two places could share tourism resources and information, which has deepened mutual understanding, created a new channel for information exchange between the two places and brought new opportunities for tourism development.
“Our tourism resources in the two places are prodigiously complementary. Through caravans, a promotional platform, we have let the sea and grasslands join hands while we have also expanded the space of cooperation for our companies.” Xin Xin said.
The chief of the tourism promotion section of Chifeng Tourism Development Committee, Wang Yuhua, said that Chifeng and Qinhuangdao have a good cooperation foundation with different and complementary tourism resources. Both cities consistently hold the development concept of market interaction, resources sharing and tourist promotion. This activity is expected to further enhance the understanding and friendship between tourist enterprises and boost the development and prosperity of the tourism in both cities.
Zhou Yan,the deputy section chief of marketing sector of Tourism Administrative Bureau in Beidaihe district, said,“Our goal is to bring our tourism enterprise into surrounding source cities of tourists,with the support of government,and recommend and introduce high quality tourism resources to local travel services,which can achieve considerable benefit through the recommendation and introduction to local dwellers”.
