According to Qinhuangdao Maritime authority, during the four-day holiday, the maritime authority dispatched law enforcement forces of 36 vehicles and nearly 100 staff, guaranteeing the travelling of more than 10,000 sea-related tourists, and more than 200 ships with over 2.6 million tons of cargo.
“During the holiday, we further increased the frontline law enforcement forces and strengthened the intensity of the sea cruises and on-site supervision. Especially for the increasing number of sea-related tourists, the AIS (Automatic identification of ship) and CCTV (video surveillance) have been adopted, to strengthen the monitoring of large passenger cruise ships and their key navigable waters, and provide information services in time, and guarantee the safety of the tourists.” said Sun Daqing, executive deputy director of the Ship Traffic Control Center of Qinhuangdao Maritime Safety Bureau.
It is reported that during May Day holiday, Qinhuangdao Maritime Safety Bureau strictly implemented the 24-hour duty and leadership shift system, and increased the frequency of patrol cruises, to ensure a good navigation order with dynamic and static combination; Strengthen communication with the meteorological and marine authorities, and closely followed the meteorological situation, to jointly consolidate the severe weather warning and prevention system; Coordinate the emergency response force in the jurisdiction to strengthen the emergency duty, make good preparations for emergency rescue, effectively ensured the smooth transmission of information, dealt with emergency promptly and efficiently, guaranteeing a safe and sound holiday for the people.
