IV. Cooking Oil and Foodstuffs
(1) Present Situation
Qinhuangdao has formed a variety of green food industrial clusters such as soybean processing, wine making, and corn deep processing. In Qinhuangdao, there are 60 grain and oil food enterprises of large scale, including Jinhai Grain and Cooking Oil company, the largest soybean processing enterprise in China; Lihua Starch Co.Ltd., which boasts the largest comprehensive production capacity in the national starch and starch sugar industry; COFCO Huaxia the Great Wall Wine Co. Ltd., China’s first export-oriented professional dry red wine enterprise; Qinhuangdao Chiatai Co. Ltd., which has formed a new model of food processing in the entire industry chain of breeding, raising, processing and selling with the most modern food manufacturing equipment in the world and is actively building the "World Kitchen".
(2) Development Direction
With the comprehensive advantages of the deep water port and leading enterprises, close to the raw material base and the consumer market, with a raw material base, large scale industry, fine processing and characteristic brand as the development direction, we shall focus on the processing of grain and cooking oil, livestock and poultry products and wine making, with the processing of potato and fruit and vegetables as supplement, in order to make our industrial chains the best.
We shall consolidate and enhance our status as an important grain and oil processing base in northern China, and promote the development of the key enterprises such as Jinhai Grain and Oil Company, Lihua Starch Co.Ltd, and COFCO Pengtai, and develop intensive processing and green processing.
We shall improve soybean processing and the comprehensive processing and utilization of its by-products, the conversion and utilization of corn and wheat into desirable by-products. We shall develop new products and their by-products.
Relying on the leading enterprises of Chiatai Food and Hongdu Industry, we shall improve the development model of "company + farmers", and establish a standardized, traceable, whole industrial chain for safety food processing. For the manufacturing of by-products, we will develop towards the direction of more varieties and derivatives, fine packaging, easy storage and easy consumption.
Relying on the leading enterprises of COFCO Huaxia, Langes, Shangri-La and others, we shall integrate the resources of wine industry, focus on improving the quality, creating new brands, and developing high-end, diversified and personalized products, and support the development of vineyards. We will strictly standardize the entry of growers and producers in the wine industry, build high quality raw material base, carry out the development of credit system, reestablish the brand identity, and make great efforts to recreate the base of Chinese wine industry.
Using sweet potato, vegetables, fruit, edible fungi and other high-quality resources, on the basis of the existing processing, we shall develop and produce green, organic, healthy, instant food, and make the county-special food industry bigger.
