In recent years, Liutiaozhuang Village, Shimenzhai Town, Haigang District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, adjusted the agricultural planting structure according to the market conditions, invited blueberry growers from other cities to the village, and introduced blueberries with higher market prices to plant, so as to change the single source of income for field crops such as corn planted by villagers. It is reported that the growers transported the peat soil from the northeast, added sawdust and fermented manure in the land to improve the soil to the acidic one suitable for blueberry growth. At present, the blueberry garden covers an area of more than 100 mu, including 6 varieties such as Rika, Beilu and Legosi, etc., with the estimated annual income of about 800,000 yuan. The ecological blueberry picking plays an important role in increasing farmers’ income, promoting agricultural transformation and developing leisure tourism, so as to broaden the way for farmers to become rich and increase their income.
