On July 16, 2019, the Science Popularization Museum of Shell Kingdom in Beidaihe New District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province was officially put into operation and opened to visitors free of charge.
It is reported that the Museum is a professional marine bioscience museum that integrates shell research, science popularization, education, exhibition and collection, research and tourism, and academic exchange. There are more than 50,000 rare shellfish specimens from all over the world’s oceans, rivers, lakes, land and mountains in the museum including ancient ammonite fossils (ancient mollusc cephalopods) and specimens of a large number of large mollusks cephalopods.
On July 16, tourists visited the Science Popularization Museum of Shell Kingdom in Beidaihe New District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province.
Through displaying shellfish specimens and collections, and spreading marine science popularization knowledge, the exhibition will further promote regional sea culture, national culture and food culture, so that the public can know more about the ocean, the concept of “harmony between man and nature” can be interpreted, and the awareness of ecological environment protection will be improved through education, fun and tourism.(Photo by Guo Nan)
