Affected by No. 9 typhoon Lekima, Beidaihe New District experienced obvious wind and rain from August 10. The work and management committee attached great importance to the typhoon prevention. All departments in the district performed their duties and took measures to safeguard the lives and property of the people, and did a good job on prevention work in accordance with the requirements of typhoon and rainstorm disaster emergency defense, taking the work of fighting against Lekima as the top priority of the current flood prevention.
Since receiving the warning information, Beidaihe New District has held several flood control scheduling meetings, and carefully deployed the typhoon prevention. Each member unit quickly deployed the work according to the division of responsibilities, promptly launched emergency response, and swiftly implemented various measures prescribed in the plan. The work and management committee and relevant departments have successively checked the weak points of bathing beaches, pits and ponds, rivers, estuaries, risky construction points, and urban water logging areas for the typhoon prevention. Marine fisheries departments
According to the reporters, a flood control team of more than 280 persons has been set up by Marine Fisheries Bureau, Bureau of Urban Management and Comprehensive Law Enforcement, and Comprehensive Control Team for the Tourism Peak Season, to help at any time according to changes in water conditions. Traffic police departments
