On October 14, the 24th North China Tourism Fair kicked off at the Shijiazhuang International Convention and Exhibition Center. More than 60 people from the bureaus of culture and tourism in every county and district and tourism enterprises participated in the fair under the organization of the Bureau of Tourism, Culture, Radio and Television of Qinhuangdao and the leadership of Qiao Shurong, director of the bureau, and Li Weili, deputy director of the bureau, to promote and publicize Qinhuangdao on all aspects, which received extensive attention from the guests at home and abroad.
The exhibition was jointly hosted by the Culture and Tourism Department (Bureau) of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Henan, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang Province (District, City), and undertaken by the Shijiazhuang Municipal People’s Government, which will last for 3 days. Culture and tourism management institutions, culture and tourism enterprises and institutions from 31 countries, regions, international organizations, and 20 domestic provinces and autonomous regions, set up exhibition stands. Nearly 300 professional buyers at home and abroad were invited to attend relevant activities. It is a model for promoting the common development of regional tourism, and is the summit of regional tourism exchange and cooperation in China.
The 100-square-meter stand of Qinhuangdao is characterized by the elements of the sea, the Great Wall and the leisure, displaying the pictures of Qinhuangdao tourism culture, folding fans, Changli wine, cherry wine soap, ornaments and other special cultural and creative products of Qinhuangdao, and playing tourism culture promotion film of Qinhuangdao City, Shanhaiguan District, Beidaihe District and Funing District, to fully publicize and display the image of culture and tourism of Qinhuangdao in various forms.
On the morning of October 15, the Qinhuangdao intangible heritage performances was staged in the Qinhuangdao exhibition stand, including Funing Taipinggu Drum Dance, Funing Blowing Song and Fan Dance. Funing Taipinggu Drum Dance was originated in the Han Dynasty, matured in the Tang and Song Dynasties, and prospered in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with a history of more than 2,000 years. In 2006, it was listed in the first intangible heritage protection of Hebei Province. Dong Lianji, a provincial-level inheritor, who has participated in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Spring Festival Gala and performed at the National Grand Theatre on behalf of Hebei province, presented blowing song with his disciples. The intangible heritage performances showed the profound cultural heritage of Qinhuangdao, and attracted the attention of the exhibitors.
On October 15, a special tourism promotion meeting showed the rich tourism resources, products and the achievements of integration of culture and tourism in Qinhuangdao.
In addition, there are 13 cultural and creative products of Qinhuangdao unveiled in the Hebei Boutique Exhibition Area in the fair, which are all tourism products that entered the finals in the 2019 Hebei Province Culture and Tourism Commodity Creative Competition. Among them, Zhang Xiaoqian Beidaihe Memorial Wine and Qin Jiu-Qin Xiao Lang won the best creative award; The Great Wall is our hometown - Traditional Jidong Food won the most commercial value award; Bureau of Tourism, Culture, Radio and Television of Qinhuangdao won the best organization award.
At this exhibition, the Qinhuangdao exhibition stand attracted many exhibitors at home and abroad who showed great interest in the tourism culture of our city. Lots of people came to consult and negotiate with the staff who distributed more than 10,000 copies of brochures, picture albums, hand-painted maps and other publicity products. This exhibition further enhanced the reputation, brand and influence of Qinhuangdao tourism culture, and also promoted the development of domestic and overseas markets.
